After Belgium’s rather succesful year in 2016, it’s now up to Ellie Delvaux (Blanche) to represent Belgium in the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest.
Blanche participated in the fifth season of singing competition ”The Voice”. She will sing a song composed together with Pierre Dumoulin, singer of the band Roscoe. Roscoe won the Octave award for best album of the year on two occasions, in 2012 and 2015.
Belgian broadcasters RTBF and VRT take turns each year to represent the bilingual country. In the past, French-speaking broadcaster RTBF used to be the more succesful broadcaster in the contest. However, in recent years, VRT have managed to catch up – with successes in 2010 (Tom Dice, 6th in the final) and Laura Tesoro (10th in the final).
